First off, I love the latest series from this author and her writing is great. However. I have mixed feelings on this book. The story was very different from anything that I have ever read. My problem with this book was the nativity of Leigh. I tend to like smart and fierce heroine. She was so consumed with Jarod that she forego everything including her own wellbeing. Her character was so needy and clingy when it came to Jarod. She cried so much throughout the book, I found it exhausting. How can she choose a life that seemed to bring her more sadness, hurt, and pain. That he “meant more to her than air”….so cliche and ridiculous. I guess that I hoped that there was more to her than just Jarod. That is all that I see of her. This just caused me to lose interest in the story rather quickly.
The whole concept of her entire existence is spent trying to influence people’s decisions and actions. The whole premise of that seems rather futile to me. I had hoped that she would have followed through with her earlier wish to find fairness and justice for all those the was discriminated against in her world.
The epilogue was the redeeming part of this whole story. It led me to believe that this whole story was a precursor for the following book or two. Of change to come

Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. This is one of my favorite books this year.
Leigh is an angel who never “loses” a sinner. She’s not about to start with Jarod. This story developed so effortlessly as did the characters. When the end came, I the breathe was knocked out of me and I huddled in the corner for a few hours.

I would not hate to see more of Celeste in the following book. ❤️
