Beautiful little story. I remember my third grade teacher reading a chapter of this to us every morning. We absolutely loved it, & this bite-sized story is so good. Yes, it’s pretty quick & we don’t get to know the characters very well, but it’s just a fun story! Wes Anderson did a really good job creating a movie from this!
Wasn’t bad but wasn’t magnificent, I like the Wes Anderson film more but felt like this was a cute kids book. Had some roald dahl features for sure.
This book has aged well and is still great fun to read. The language is such that it is perfectly suited to reading aloud to a child. Loved it.
A really good book to be read aloud. It takes maybe an hour and a half to read through it silently, so it would probably take 3 hours out loud. The imagery is fantastic, the characters are well written, and the dialogue is really funny.
