Much like the previous books in this arc, I read this one in a few hours and it was a good one. There were some definite nightmare fuel moments in this book and I enjoyed getting to see more of the dark forest. It was also good to see Shadowsight develop as a character more and being able to stand up for himself. Ashfur as a villain is also particularly well developed. Having him not appear for several arcs and then having him return like this and not having changed for the better since then is interesting. As far as villains go, I found him scarier particularly since he does have human real world equivalents.
While this book did answer many questions about what Ashfur is doing and what his exact motives are, a lot of things are still left up in the air such as where StarClan is, and how Ashfur managed to gain this much power to the point in which he blocked off access to them. I’m guessing it’ll probably be concluded in the next book. And as for the next book I’m curious about that as well. While the title sounds very light compared to the other books in this arc, I have a feeling it’ll be anything but that since Ashfur is still in power and the mysterious mist is taking over the forest.

Not the best of Warriors books, but not the worst. It was somewhat filler, but that's to be expected as the last book of the arc is coming up. Also, Bramblestar suuuuuuuucks. Squirrelflight forever.
This was an...interesting read. There was a lot of switching character perspective, and that wasn't my favorite, but there was a lot of plot twists in this particular book. And what I really want is a perspective or novella from Snowtuft. 8/10
