she’s cute, but nothing amazing to writing home about. avery and emmett feel undeveloped, he is running for mayor but there isn’t any backing to him doing so other than the billboard he places outside avery’s restaurant. i do love dual pov though.
y’all this book is so fucking good. enemies to lovers, fake dating, good spice??? YES please. Add this to your tbr immediately
Even though this is the first in the series, it's the last one I read. I did start with book 2 and read the rest in order, though, so I'm not a complete psychopath. ;) I enjoyed Emmett & Avery's story - fake relationships are one of my favorite tropes. And while this was a good read the characters didn't feel as developed as they do in some of my favorite books. Archer does go on to do a better job of introducing and developing her MC's though, so if you're like me and prefer to read series in order, this is a good enough read not to skip in favor of the other books. We've married off all the Rhodes brothers now, though. I'm looking forward to more from the Queen's Cove characters because, despite all 4 brothers being off the market, I feel like Book 4 perfectly set up a Book 5 with one of the townspeople. We shall see!

Ok this was really funny and cute!! The enemies (kinda) to lovers progression was a little abrupt but these books are more about vibes anyways so it worked for me
