I enjoyed The Girl Who Came Home a lot, but I think I wish it would have been a different story altogether. I liked reading things through the eyes of the various people connected with the Titanic, but I could have done without Grace's story. It just seemed like a distraction and wasn't really what I wanted to read. I would have much preferred the story showing Maggie and the other survivor's lives after New York. I wanted to know how they picked up the pieces and made their new lives. There was a glimpse of it, but it was once they were already old.

Great book about the Titanic. I've always been fascinated by it. This story is told mainly from the eyes of a an Irish 17 year old girl aboard the Titanic. Her story is also shown from her future self, and is all connected in the end. I like this author quite a bit, having read another book of hers The Memory of Violets.

Beautiful story, so sad at times and heartwarming in others.
