It's a bit dated but still a great read for my reluctant reader who doesn't sit still for long. She loved it and we were able to work on comprehension and other strategies along the way, too. Bonus for a good lesson in the book.

King Midas has been updated. Welcome John Midas who has a thing for candy, chocolate in particular. He finds no reason why he should eat anything other than chocolate. His parents are so worried that they take him to the doctor. It still doesn't help, so, magically, he is given a gift. After eating a specific piece of chocolate, everything tastes like chocolate once it hits his mouth. As the day goes on, anything his mouth touches begins to turn to chocolate.
John is okay with this at first, but then the problems begin.
Fun way to stress the beauty of a balanced diet to kids.

A fun book that will appeal to fans of Mrs. Piggy-Wiggle.
Makes me think of my Pappi and his chocolate addiction. What a silly way to show you the importance of the variety in our lives.
