WOW WOW WOW. i knew from friends that this one would have much more of everything (smut, violence, action) than book 1 AND I CAN CONFIRM. i had the best time reading this - getting to witness elena grow into even more of a badass was AMAZING. she is ultimate book gf material right there. the found family vibes in this duet is UNmatched - i want to be apart of that family so bad. i love when couples are badass together and fight together, and elena&dante are the perfect example of that. i HIGHLY recommend this duet, but please please please check the CW. this is a dark, mafia romance, and it deals with some very heavy topics (cw listed below!)

⚠️: grooming, adult/minor relationship, violence, gun violence, murder, death, pedophilia, torture, blood, sexual assault, infertility, domestic abuse, child abuse, kidnapping, medical trauma, injury/injury detail, death of parent, grief

ENG
as much as i love giana darling this did not work for me. i have disappointment written all over my face and i can tell that it is because of many things:
-overhyping it before i actually read it (because of fallen men series)
-mafia romances usually do not work for me lately
-the plot of this book (i think this could have been a single book and i would give it a higher rating + some of the scenes might not have been according to my taste - especially in this second book - and it influenced my reading experience)

I thought I loved Dante and Elena from the first book… this book made me realize my love for them knows no bounds.

They are so beautiful together. I have never been in such awe of two people before. Elena truly came into her own in this book, and I loved that she was able to have the man, the career, and her family.

And Dante… oh boy they don’t make men like him at all.
get you a man who would go to jail just to find amd kill your abuser

This was such a sexy, emotional book.

4/5 on the spice scale for me. Dante’s dirty talk is just on another level and my girl Elena when she started to participate 🥵 they had me wanting both of them.
