This was a small novel that packed a lot into it. The story focuses on three women in a well-to-do Oregon neighborhood. Two of them are very close and the third is stand-offish and distant. One of the women, Cora, makes it her mission to befriend the distant one, Georgia. Meanwhile, the third one, Paige, has changed in the last year after the death of her son, and she is suspicious of all the neighbors. The novel plays out, going back and forth to each character's POV as they all work to entangle and disentangle themselves from their own husbands and each others'. The author makes some interesting choices and as the stories overlap and change, you find yourself rooting for all three women and the ways they are there for each other, even when it's difficult.

This is a little too far in the "psychopath menacing the innocent woman" category--it would remind you of Pretty Little Lies, but it does fall short. A good-enough summer read, if you like women-in-jep medium-light.
