I liked the fast pace of the book, but the writing style seemed staccato and surface level at times.
One thing I'm sure about is that all the characters were miserable, and I strongly dislike miserable characters.
I was about to give 4 stars then I gave myself the benefit of the doubt as to whether it actually deserved it. The characters were shallow, I cannot even grasp what happened at the end. Everything was accepted so easily as if they weren't supposed to be killed a few moments ago. They all just unbelievably carried on with their lives and lived happily ever after. The author failed to deepen the feelings, whatever they were, I didn't catch them. There must have been so much more to the final scenes, more frustration, more worry and anxiety, but I didn't feel anything, I was just surprised at how everything didn't make sense from the beginning and how firmly cruel some people are.

I've had great luck with thrillers this year! This was so good. My only wish was that we got to see some more closure from the other characters as well.

Absolutely perfect!
I held my breath almost all the way. This was stunning. A perfect thriller to sweep you off your feet. I didn't see any of the twists coming and was surprised at every turn. Thriller is one of my top favorite genres and recently I've been constantly disappointed by the cliche, mainstream plots and writing style. But this was something else entirely. I think I may even come back to re-read it some time in the future, which I almost never do with a thriller. So, ofq 10/10 recommended for every thriller lover out there. You'll be glad to pick this up.
