E wow, what a moment. Cute!

This book had too many problematic moments to enjoy. JVN used his shortcomings to portray growth, and while the message of the book was clear (and truly beaten to death 30% of the way through) it wasn’t enough to justify his behaviors and language.

From a technical standpoint, this book was so disorganized and poorly written. I had a hard time understanding the purpose of his anecdotes, namely his insertion of a 6th grade report on Bill Clinton. Yes, he was showing how he avoids discussing hard topics but why waste your readers time?

I can appreciate his overall message but the way he justified preaching that and the way the book was written was not enough to enjoy the experience of reading it.

For all the people that envision "celebrities" or "the successful" as someone unrelatable, this book is for you. Everybody's path has bumps, but JVN just had the courage to share his raw, beautiful story of how he got to where he is. Would highly recommend.

What a delightful little cinnamon roll JVN is. This account of his life so far is honest, vulnerable, and yet fabulous. There is certainly some confronting topics touched on, but they are considered with compassion.
