Harley Quinn was a scene-stealer throughout Tom Taylor's outstanding Injustice: Gods Among Us series, so I was thrilled when I saw he'd written a Suicide Squad graphic novel. Surprisingly, he doesn't use Harley as much of a main character so much as a support beam for all the other characters, many of whom, I believe, are brand new creations. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite, but the relationship between Wink and the Aerie is certainly a highlight of this book. I'd love to see more character development for the three black characters on "The Revolutionaries," as they don't get nearly as much attention as Osita, Wink, the Aerie, Deadshot, or even the Zebra-Man.

There are some genuinely cute moments in this arc, including Deadshot's daughter naming a rescued dog "Dogshot" and herself "Liveshot."

One of the best superhero books I’ve read in a while. I’ve loved everything tom Taylor has done, and this may be among his best. It’s a great, self contained story. BRUNO REDONDO’s artwork is incredible and kinetic, and it’s rare to have the same art team on a book this long these days when it’s this high quality.

I just love the Suicide Squad. And Harley just gets all the best lines. Love that, too. Fun, fun, fun! Along with some gruesome here and there--as should be expected.

Fun read! I still feel like Taylor is too nice to write a book like this—I feel similarly about his Black Label Hellblazer—but he quickly establishes this as not your typical Suicide Squad book and the differentiation is enough to make it work. The emotional beats needed more time to breathe and settle, and the politics—as correct and cathartic as they are—don’t actually have many teeth, which is a missed opportunity. But in a mainstream comic book, I’m happy to see how much Taylor got into this. A diverse cast of characters, some satisfying comeuppances, and vibrant artwork make this a very enjoyable, surprisingly breezy read. Again, it’s far lighter than a Suicide Squad series probably should be, but if you have the right expectations, it’s hard not to have a good time.

Was not sure what to expect, for a sometimes suicide squad fan this was more of a fun read then I expected. Some good twists, a total recasting of who is important, some touching moments, and a fair bit of the dark humor you would expect. Worth the ride.

An incredibly fun Suicide Squad book. This is not usually my favourite team to read, but Tom Taylor knocked it out of the park here. The characters are fun, the action exciting to read and the art in this book is amazing, especially the vibrant colours that were used. I was a big fan of the new characters that were introduced here, even though there were quite a lot of them and there really was only enough space on the page to get to know a few of them a little closer (although there is always space for future writers to explore).

Definitely one way to turn the Squad on its head!
