Great finish to the series! The alternating pic worked better in this book though I still found a lot of information was unnecessarily repeated making the book longer than it needed to be. I loved seeing how much these two men cared for each other in little ways that meant so much.

If you like the spy/killer type stories you will end up loving Mark and Quinn. It is unavoidable how fun the two of them are in these stories. As each book progresses, the writing smooths out and some of the initial issues such as really long over lapping POV switches are better. There are still some story lines that drop, but it is not overall impactful to the entire story - just niggles and why were they there to begin with if they are going to be dropped.

Overall, I would continue to read stories about these two and the cast of secondary characters. The secondary characters such as Quinn's mom, uncles, and the friends (rentboys, other spies, etc) really make these very long stories a good time.

I just love this couple so much, so sad it's over. However I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending.
But I totally recommend this trilogy!!

Better and better! This entry has Mark finding his own place to live and having Quinn's mom help him find it. The scene where they go visit the condo it wonderfully written and gives us insight into who Portia is and how Mark relates to her. There are some difficult parts to this book in terms of characters being injured and dealing with that. Mark is wonderful. Quinn learns a lot about himself. He asks Mark to do something for him and both think that changes how the other feels. Quinn continues to be the one to push to keep them together. Another great story.

Strange mix of feelings about this one

3.5 stars...I loved the first books in this series and couldn’t wait to start this one. But man was it a slog to get through.

First of all there was way too much telling and not enough showing. Secondly I could not get over how repetitive it was...not from previous books (yeah there was that but it goes with the territory in series) but from within THIS BOOK. At one point there is a description of who a character is less than ten pages after a long scene with that same character. It happens over and over where the same information is repeated for no good reason and to my increasing annoyance. It really feels like the whole middle of the book was written by a completely different, and far less talented writer. Then all of a sudden, the writing and action is back to familiar territory, sounding more like the earlier books.

I love the MCs and the plot here does a lot of character examination. There are a number of places where the story builds great suspense. The author had me second guessing everything, just waiting for a shoe to drop or a trap to spring. And then, nothing. Or if there was something, it was ridiculously anti-climactic. There are also a number of threads that started and then just disappear.

So while I love these MCs and several of the secondary characters, and I would love to see more books in this series, it would be much better with the help of a good editor.
