A short, cute Christmas story.

Evie is given her aunt’s cafe when she passes and is trying to make Christmas special for her and her boyfriend Ed.

She pulls out some of her Christmas decor from the attic, trips while carrying it down, and accidentally breaks a Christmas angel from her aunt.

Things begin popping up unplanned, bad luck seems to linger. Evie can’t help but wonder if it’s because of the broken angel.

It ends on a happy note. Christmas was successful even if it wasn’t how Evie planned.

The story was cute. Felt unfinished in a way. Won’t be one I read again.

Maybe too obvious but it remains a good Christmas vibes book.

How lovely to revisit characters from The Beach Cafe in a Christmassy setting! I enjoyed this and it certainly got me into the Christmas spirit but I wish it had been longer. Most of the last quarter of the book is taken up with Christmas recipes and an excerpt from the author's new novel :(

Fingers crossed Lucy Diamond writes another sequel because I'd love to see Evie and Ed get engaged (although with his nightmare of an ex-wife maybe he's been put off marriage for life??)
