I did not realize this book would follow Eli’s story and some chapters about Cali. I never really liked Eli so it was kind of hard to get through. Felt like the “wrap” up was really quick…like a chapter and then it just ends.
Sad to say this series after book 2 just didn’t do it for me.

I really enjoyed this one and didn’t even mind that most of it stuck with Eli’s POV—I liked getting to know the broader cast of characters more deeply. That said, it felt like Eli and Anna’s story was cut short, and I was left wondering what happens with Bex. But the real drop in enjoyment for me came with the unplanned pregnancy trope. I had hoped we were avoiding that with Cal and Mendax, especially after previous books seemed to steer clear. It’s just not a storyline I enjoy, and now I’m not sure I’ll be able to revisit earlier parts of the series the same way.

3.5* hrmmm did I like this? I’m not sure… I liked some parts- but also found Eli annoying AF- not entirely convinced the ending was enough to redeem him. Cal and Mendex are largely absent from this one and I missed them. It all wraps up nicely and I’m glad to have another series completed… but not sure it’s the ending I wanted…
