Well the story didn’t start well for me, since I instantly disliked the new main character and I already felt animosity towards the other one. I would say that, out of all the Narnia Chronicles books, this one didn’t stand much for me, and again I think it has to do with the characters. In itself the plot was interesting enough, and it may be the book were more happens, it was filled with action and the new land explored was fascinating, but that wasn’t enough for me. Also something that nagged me it’s how obvious certain things were and how hard the characters failed to notice them, to a certain point it annoyed me and also contributed to make the reading less enjoyable. In all is a book that it’s not hard to read.

I enjoyed this one - there was plenty of whimsy, a good formula for adventure, more world building, etc.

The quotes about the experiment school made me laugh lol

“Crying is all right in its way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do.”

Giants. Knights. Curses.

I continue making my way through this series with the audiobooks. THE SILVER CHAIR continues our storyline with Eustace Scrubb and brings in a classmate of his, Jill Pole. A prince is missing, and Aslan has given Jill four statements to guide them. From the start, things go astray and they must navigate the consequences.

I found this title more difficult to get through, but I will be interested to see how it fits in the greater whole, as this is the first time I’m making my way through the entire series.

Dawn Treader and this one are, by far, my favorites on this reread, mostly because they have far less of the Dear Reader tone that the others have, and they also have more interesting stories and characters. I refuse to read the last one because I can’t stand it.

A quick read
