This was a random one with giants of the north, Eustace being Eustace and felt at odds with rest of the series.

I enjoyed the character development, especially that of Puddleglum
I hadn't ever read The Silver Chair or The Last Battle, even though The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was one of the first books I ever read. I've taken about 20 years to read all of The Chronicles of Narnia and I have to say, the earlier books were much better.
The Silver Chair was quick and to the point but I don't like Eustace and Jill near as much as Lucy and Peter. I also don't like Prince Rilian near as much as Caspian or Mister Tumnus or many of the other Narnians.
The whole story kind of felt like filler so that Eustace and Jill could go to Narnia at least once before The Last Battle. I found it kind of boring and uninspired compared to the Narnia of earlier books.
Disappointing all around, and difficult to concentrate on due to the Christian themes. I do wish I'd completed the stories at a younger age so maybe I could see them more as adventures the way I saw the earlier books, without all the religious undertones and morality.

This might be my favorite Narnia book now instead of the Dawn Treader. Maybe not. But a close second for sure. Loved the lesson taught at the end of the book by the kids to the bullies. Fun.
