Have I missed something here? Why does everyone love it?
safe to say - i’ll never recover (burtiski mans lielakais dzives fear). Bet ja nopietni, velreiz parliecinajos, ka nekad nesapratisu colleen hoover fanus
Okay for those who don’t want any spoilers. Fair warning, domestic violence is present. And you should read it and give it a ago. It does pick up pace during the second half of the book.
Now anything beyond this is filled with spoilers so leave now!
So I was not liking this book in the beginning. The smut in this is so cringy and made me want to vomit. Literally. I kept speaking out loud with rage like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? and WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT? I only carried on because I wanted to know what happened between Atlas and Lily. I read for Atlas. I love Atlas. We need a man like Atlas. Now knowing how Ryle is a fucking DICK, I think the way the smut was written or how he was described may have been a clever literary choice but I don’t know if that was Hoover’s intentions. I think the ending about Hoover sharing her own anecdote about her parents marriage meant a lot more than the story.
There were a lot of cliches and Lily does become annoying in the novel but I find that inevitable. Overall not too shabby and I love Atlas. The ending was like a cliche movie but I found that boring in a way because I’m not a teenager who doesn’t know what real love looks like. I can see my younger self loving this to the core.

This book has been recieving a lot of hype on the internet and that's why I picked it up too but for me it's not worth the hype. It has been quite a sometime when I read it and all I could remember of this are the spicy parts. I am not into Spicy-Romance books but if you like it you will probably like the series too.
The rating I've given to it is solely due to it's story line and the bond of characters. Collen Hoover has very nicely interpreted that a relationship should either be healthy or it should not be. Also, she has emphasised that tolerating abuses is not a solution because it never ends then.
That's all form me!! ;)

I put off reading this one for quite some time because I didn't think it could possibly live up to the hype it got. Man, was I wrong!
It's hard to tell everything I loved about this story without majorly spoiling it, so this will be pretty short and sweet.
This story is all about survival, love, forgiveness, strength, and breaking toxic cycles. I loved the strength Lily showed, the courage she demonstrated, and the willingness and determination to stop abusive cycles in her family once and for all. This story is raw and real, and it's not for the faint of heart. Trigger warnings for abuse and assault.
The characters (side and main) were amazing, the message was profound, the quotes hit home, and the feelings...geez, the feelings never let up! From start to finish, I could not put this one down. I think it's a story that will resonate with so many people, whether you've experienced this kind of situation or not. You will walk away from it having learned and gained something. Oh, and a friendly reminder to, "Just keep swimming."
