"Your good is probably fine. You don't need to be the best."
I appreciate the sentiments expressed in this book of essays. And listening to her read them was funny. She has good comedic timing and it made them more interesting. Her stories were well-written and from the heart, which you could hear as she spoke.
I enjoyed listening to the stories, even if they led me to not-so-enjoyable examinations of my own life and addiction to social media. If you're not looking to self-analyze, I would not recommend these essays. However, if that's your schtick and you don't mind throwing yourself into an existential crisis, you'll enjoy this book.

A collection of essays that are funny and heartbreaking and warm and real. I enjoyed some more than others but they all flowed together well and created a good read overall.

This book has been on my TBR list for a while after I saw the title and thought "Yes, that's a title aimed at me". At the time I was, and still am, over the phrase "Good Vibes Only" and the people who cling to it. Bad vibes exist and they need space too, damn it! Seriously though, it's a book of humorous essays covering a variety of experiences the author has had in her own life about being a parent, a young widow, a social media addict, an overachiever, and more. Some chapters I related to, like the ones that focused on grief, friendships, school, and work while the parenting ones were a bit of a miss for me. Still, they were entertaining to read and I enjoyed the author's dark humour yet earnest tone.
I was surprised to see this labelled self-help in some reviews and had to double-check the classification. I would argue it's not a self-help book, but more of a non-fiction memoir/essay book. It has some healthy observations and good advice but if you're looking for a self-help book, this may not be the book for you.
