No Holding Back is one of Lori Foster's best books! Its my new favorite. These two characters are strong, independent, caring people. I loved the way these two built trust with one another before jumping into a relationship. Great read, highly recommend.

5 everyone has a secret to hide stars!!

I am fully INVESTED in this family!!! I love all of Lori Fosters books but I really enjoy when she does series/families that are about saving people or into “crime” fighting. Usually both main characters are strong and independent then but have to figure out how to work together. I can’t say this enough Lori Foster writes amazing, strong, independent, smart, driven, female characters in normal body types. That may be one of the main reasons I keep going back to her writing, these women and their “flaws” that they see are what these men find so attractive.

Anyways onto my review of this new trilogy, I really liked “Star” she of course is kick ass and determined to not get close to anyone for good reasons. I would also like a necklace just like hers and is it a real thing? She was probably the most evolved to me character in this whole book besides Bernard because I did not see that ending coming. I felt her pain the whole way through the book whether physical or mental, sometimes I don’t think she realized how much of hero she was on her own. Once Cade opened her eyes to what she had already accomplished though and what more they could do together, I can’t wait to see more.

Cade was obviously a tough guy but he approved Star with kid gloves in the beginning. I liked how she was almost like a cactus to him he didn’t know how best to approach without getting stickled. However he seemed to just anticipate all of her needs and I really just enjoyed that part of him. His family dynamic really threw me off in the beginning, but once he was with them more I really understood it and enjoyed them immensely. He didn’t have as much of a character arc throughout the book, but he did grow in his relationship with his father and I did enjoy that.

I have to say Cade’s family was an obvious highlight for me and since they are the whole Trilogy that was probably the point. Lori Foster set up the next book in this book to be his brother Reyes and I cannot wait because I am fully invested in him also since his sparred so much with Star. I also want to know what happens with Bernard will we get a novella about him??? Inquiring minds want to know.

What an amazing start to a new series. The content is gritty and raw but very well written. There is a perfect balance between the romance and the suspense with plenty of family drama and dynamics thrown in.

I truly enjoy this author’s writing and her ability to make the reader feel like they know every character with her descriptions and dialogue.

I will be patiently (well maybe somewhat impatiently) waiting for the next book in the series.

No Holding Back is the first book in the new McKenzies of Ridge Trail series. It has been a while since I have read anything by this author, and I am blown away by it! It was action-packed but also heartwarming as this family takes up the fight against human trafficking and rescuing innocent women. They wouldn’t meet the standards of a “normal” family so finding that special someone was not easy for them. Sterling (Star) Parson was a survivor, smart, sassy, and perfect for Cade McKenzie and you could feel the sizzle between them from the beginning.
Star had been taken by human traffickers while in high school but was able to escape before she was harmed. Now she tries to help innocent women and stop the men in charge of operations. She works alone and trusts no one but when Cade inserts himself into her life, she slowly comes to trust him as she realizes they are both working toward the same goal. Cade and his family are closing in on a human trafficking operation and Star was about to ruin it. Cade knows he must keep her safe, but he also needs to keep his family’s activities a secret. Cade and Star both must open up and share parts of themselves in order to build trust between them.
All the action and suspense in the storyline kept you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The characters were intriguing, and you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. I hope the next book will be Reyes’s story and I can’t wait for it!
I received an ARC from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lori Foster does it again. Man this book! I could NOT put it down. Mystery, a bad ass heroine and alpha men make this one amazing read.

Lori Foster is back with a new romantic suspense series, this time focusing on a family of vigilantes with the means and the skills to take down human traffickers in the picturesque Midwest mountains. Cade, his brother Reyes, his sister Madison, and his father Parrish have made it their mission to bring to justice the terrible men responsible for trafficking innocent women. But when skittish and secretive Sterling Parson catching Cade's attention, he can't explain why he's driven to protect her. Sterling has been on her own for longer than she cares to remember, and can't afford for Cade to figure out she's not just a tired trucker who's fond of his bar and the warm booth he lets her nap in. But when these two finally let their guards down to trust one another, they'll realize they have a lot more in common - and a lot more chemistry - than they thought possible. And they can possibly help each other find the justice, and love, they both crave.

Thoughts: I can type this loud enough, but I am so glad Lori Foster came out with this latest romantic suspense! I didn't really enjoy her Road to Love series all that much, which was really disappointing because I was totally absorbed by the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, Love Undercover, Ultimate, and Body Armor series. I devoured those books. Her latest series, The McKenzies of Ridge Trail, lives up to all of those series' expectations. It has a page-turning suspense plot, a backstory that you don't get lost in but still keeps your interest, plenty of chemistry between the main characters, swoon-worthy guys, strong and independent women, and playful banter between main and secondary characters. This is one to be enjoyed by Foster fans and newbies alike, and for anyone looking for a captivating love story with just enough plot to keep you reading well passed your bedtime.

3.5 stars. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a Lori Foster book and while this isn’t as good as I remember her others being, it’s enough to bring me back into her worlds. I loved the characters in this book and am looking forward to reading the siblings’ stories.

*I received a free review copy of No Holding Back. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

No Holding Back is the first book in a new series by Lori Foster, and it blew my socks off! I loved Sterling, she had definitely been through hell. She was therefore far from trusting, but she was a very strong character, both physically and emotionally. Cade was a fantastic character as well, fighting the good fight - all in secret - he felt like there was something about Sterling from the first time she came into his bar.

This story is a fast-paced romantic suspense, and I loved how complete it made me feel. There's a lot of action - both in and out of the bedroom - and I enjoyed the fact that Cade did not steamroll over Sterling's wants and needs, he treated her as a partner in every way of the word.
