I loved the overall idea and themes of this; especially that true love can persist even in the face of the literal end of the world. However, something about this just didn’t fully do it for me. I’m not sure if it was the pacing or the actual plot but certain parts dragged for me. I’m still curious to see what this author does in the future since this is only a debut.

I just think that YA dystopian fantasy is not for me :/ I did love that it was queer! Probably the saving grace.

I really liked that there was plot and depth beyond the romance ! found family but in an adopted into another family way, a whole mess of anarchic politics, and disabled rep (chronic pain / mobility issues)
now. some of the lines were cheesy as hell. especially at the end! in my head I just crossed out those lines and kept reading and the book was good and fun and cute

I loved the way this book utilized the "zombie-like" outbreak trope and made it unique. The love our main characters had for each other was palpable. It was well paced and kept me stressed till the epilogue. Overall, this was a great time.
