This was my first book by Kristin Canary. I love her writing style, and she is skilled a weaving a great love story. Even though this is a novella, I felt as though the story felt complete!

I love Lola and Kevin's relationship. Kevin is endearing, and Lola is delightful. I love that Lola has a career as a theater costume designer. That's not something you see often in books and makes this one unique! I love watching Lola and Kevin find their footing in the relationship. Their chemistry is amazing!

Kristin does an amazing job weaving character growth, humor, and love together to give you the perfect story! I cannot wait to read more of her books!

Content Warning:
-Parents left a 13-year-old daughter with her sister to move across the country
-Head injury resulting in amnesia
*This is a clean closed-door romance.

Read on Kindle. I'm just going to start with that because it always means that the story won't stay with me as well as if I'd read it in paperback.

I liked the story well enough. I guess I expected more. My fault. I've recently picked up a lot of rom com authors via Kindle. I think I'm just learning the genre. But I really liked the premise.

Kevin calling Lola Buttercup was adorable. I loved his cluelessness when he came to after the accident and planted one on her. The guy even smelled her sweatshirt when they were apart, which was so adorable. I loved that Lola finally put herself first after being so supportive of everyone else. Loved this novella.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS: It’s been two years since Kevin broke Lola’s heart. When Lola runs into him at the hopsital he’s completing his residency at, things are awkward. And become even more so after Kevin slips and falls and gets a concussion that causes him to lose all memory of the past two years. Meaning he thinks they’re still together. After telling him the truth that they’re broken up, Kevin is determined to use this as a second chance to make things right. But is Lola willing to open her heart again?

This was my second amnesia romance (Townshipped by Savannah Scott being the first) and I enjoyed seeing how this one played out. This is a prequel novella to Kristen’s California Dreamin’ series. I really liked Lola’s character. She was such a loyal supportive person and I loved that about her. This was such an interesting take on a romcom and I think it was done extremely well. It made me really excited to read the rest of the series.

I'm still new to this amnesia trope and this one is really cute and well written. It has all the feels, it's swoony and with sizzling kisses. A great start to the series.
