I liked it just fine. Sort of reminded me of the film Heavenly Creatures.

I say dark academia, you say hell yeah.

Loved this boarding school book following a choir cult as they explore teenage greed. So so good. Closest book to TSH in terms of vibes.

Seems like we can never escape comparing a DA book to the OG TSH. But this felt like that except incredibly unique to itself unlike IWWV.
I thought this book made DA its own and I love the commentary on how we glorify the aesthetic and the pretentiousness, ugh. just yes.

Too many thoughts, not enough words.

i commend burton on her ability to write realistically pretentious teenagers. i wish it was written in first person; it would've encapsulated that isolated boarding school cult vibe a bit better in my opinion.

3.5/5. More juvenile than I was expecting, but once I got used to that, it was pretty enjoyable. I liked the growth of the main character by the end.
