I enjoyed the premise of this book and the angst, drama and mystery that it entailed. There was a hinted backstory with the female main character that you just wanted to know more about and the ending added even more questions.

I love the rollercoaster of emotions and events that this book went through. Just when you thought things might be getting a little easier or questions were answered, something else was thrown right in front of you and you had to recover from what occurred.

While I did enjoy the story I found that I would’ve liked knowing a bit more about the characters and maybe their back stories. Especially the guys. I feel like we didn’t connect with them a lot or didn’t really get the full story. When they did interact with the female main character it was brief. It felt very hot and cold and I was kind of meh on the three of them. I did enjoy Peyton‘s interactions with Colton, the one we seem to have the most interactions with. I think when more is revealed in book 2 and we are given more time with other characters we will start to connect with them a bit more and will hopefully get some answers.

Great start

Wow great start to what I hope is going to be a series, a duet at the least. There is just enough spice to keep you wanting more. I would for sure say medium burn. The plot is great and moves at a great pace, but I have sooooo many questions.

Peyton

This book was a mix of many troupes. Peyton, our female lead, has a lot going on with herself. She's been through some terrible terrible things that we learn about. So definitely some triggers there if that's not your thing. I really did enjoy this book and I'm looking forward to the next segment.

I respect authors that like to utilise mystery and leave the reader with many unanswered questions.

However, this was a disaster.

I hated how dry the plot remained, even the cliffhanger was insignificant. It was like a wannabe mystery book, with hints of dark elements that are too predictable for this to be a good read. I might read the series for the sake of the reviews and because I’d love to see how the fmc evolves but other than that, I’m not interested in uncovering anything else.
