Holy fuck, I have not had to force my way through a book so bad in a long, long time but it was a STRUGGLE and a half not to DNF this one. The MC is narcassistic, toxic, unnecessarily rude, self-sabotaging, whiny and complaining about everything between heaven and earth. How on earth one person, let alone two people are supposed to love her is beyond me. Absolutely no sense of self-awareness or willingness to accept consequences for her actions. The whole time I was reading the book I just wished someone would run a truck over the MC and just be done with it.

I barely made it through the first chapter. But you should give a book a chance to set things up before walking away. Unfortunately, chapter two was my limit. I just could not keep going. Even after doing some skimming…nothing ever caught my attention. I am so sad that I didn’t like this. Thus far, I’ve loved the books I’ve read by this author. The blurb and the premise don’t quite match. I definitely feel like I was promised one thing and handed another. It just didn’t make sense to me. I guess he decides that the child (no, seriously) was would be worth the sex. And then his best friend gets involved and now there’s jealousy. I’m all for taboo with a touch of real life circumstances, but this is a lot to unpack just to enjoy a Jade West smut fest!

There's nothing wrong with DNFing a book for yourself. There's plenty of books to read, and not enough time in the day. Our TBRs are proof of that babes!

Steamy and taboo. Moved a bit slow, and the heroine grated in places, but let's be real- I'm here for the heartfelt but very erotic, tintillating smut Jade does so well, and we have that in spades.

This had more of a plot than most steamy books. Check trigger warnings. I enjoyed the story line- spice was intense. Problem was resolved rather quickly in the book. I did like the male characters. In my opinion, one had more depth than the other (mostly you learn more about one and not so much the other).
This book was good! Until the ending ruined it. Why does pregnancy have to be the ultimate happy ending? The idea of the farm was perfect and made sense for the story, but the pregnancy attempt came out of left field for me, and I didn’t like it.
