Excellent. The audio version as incredibly read by Patti Smith is like an old Hammett or Chandler crime novel.
Short and a quick enough read to finish in a day. Wish there'd been a bit more in the way of plot, it was very basic and left me feeling dissatisfied.
Patti Smith's deadpan, dull narration detracted from the book. The book could have been better with a better reader.
“What loneliness is more lonely than distrust?”
What an odd story. A hit man is hired to kill a very important person. He knows his knowledge of even the request is enough to have him killed. He won't make it out of this hit. So he tries to come up with another plan of action. It was interesting to get to know the hitman but the story felt a bit disjointed and I wasn't fully immersed in the story. We only got to glance at the characters before we were moving on. I did enjoy the writing but I'm not sure I'll keep reading the series.

Didn’t love this but thought it was decent, especially considering how short it is. It just didn’t feel like any of the character motivations were earned.
