Blood on Snow

Jo Nesbø

Just terrible. Boring plot, uninteresting characters, and the narrator is the worst I've ever heard (I listened to the audio book version). She reads the entire story as if it was an obituary, completely monotonously and uninspired. So maybe she loved the book as much as I did...

Do not begin with this one if you've not read any Nesbø previously as it doesn't live up to prior work. In fact if you have read Nesbø, don't read this at all as you will be sorely disappointed.

Compassionate, wily and gullible at the same time, despite his profession, Olav is a likeable character and I enjoyed reading his back-story but the main thrust of the novel lacked depth and suspense.

If I cared enough, I would re-read sections of the novel again, particularly towards the end, for greater clarity. As I don't, it has been returned to the library.

2.5?

A bit strange novel of Nesbo. A kind of an experiment. Using the first-person narrative. Very short. But he was still able to squeeze in a pretty good development of the main character and a couple of twists.

Interesting story by Jo Nesbø, He moves away from Harry Hole to write a novel from the criminal's perspective. I did not enjoy "Blood on Snow" as much as other novels by Nesbø and the story was a little macabre for me. I gave it 3 stars because it kept me engaged to the very end.
adventurous dark mysterious reflective medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes

What a strange, strange little book.

This read like an old style mystery/novella, not a thriller as it’s described. A couple cool twists. I’m new to Nesbo so I’ll definitely read more of his work

I love anything Nesbo writes. This is about a Fixer and told from his point of view.
Loveable characters: No

This was just…not for me.
