Harold and his purple crayon have entertained untold numbers of children throughout the years. Oh my God, did I just write that? It sounds like some horrible back cover. Nevertheless, it's true. Harold's imagination and his crayon take him on adventures through the night: boats to cities, forest to beach and back home again. Classic picture book for any child who has (or is in need of) an active imagination.

Still a bit long for my 2.5 year old, a classic from my own childhood but funnier for adults than kids.

Harold and his magical purple crayon have many adventures in this book. His crayon has the ability to create anything that he desires and Harold desires some fun things indeed! This is a classic and I don't know how I went this long without reading it. Everyone should go out and read it right now.

Is this an easy cheat to meeting my yearly goal? Yes. Is this also a trip down memory lane for me? Also yes. Did I enjoy reading something that fed my inner child? 100%.

There's a reason this book is a classic that stands the test of time: it's simple, fun and incredibly imaginative.
