I tried. I really, really tried to finish this book. Only got half way thru before I couldn’t go on. Why? The male protagonist was just so…entitled and oblivious about his privilege that he was ok with not giving the 411 to his gf about his family. Basically ensuring that she walked in unprepared, like a lamb in a den of lions that haven’t been fed in days. I wanted to reach into the story and beat the ever loving shite out of the guy bc he set her up for failure and then walked around shocked that she had no clue about his family…when he never really talked about them.
It sucks, bc based off the descriptions, I was interested in reading the other 2 books in the Crazy Rich series, but now I’m leery bc of that main male character who is a complete asshat.
Basically, rich male privilege causes big problems for his not so rich girlfriend bc he lacks empathy. Does he get any by the end of the book? At this point, I don’t know and I don’t care.
