Every time a character revealed the story behind a certain modern tradition or symbol, I'd be surprised. The amount of work that went into writing this book is immense! The plot was a backbone providing us with opportunities to understand the various truths. While the flow was good, the ending and climax was disappointing..

I liked it. If only because it was a quick light read, and it got me interested in the subject enough to want to do further research.
So it's not accurate, it was entertaining anyway. The tv show ER isn't accurate, yet millions tune in. It probably makes real doctors sick to watch. So, if you are a real historian or theologian, this book will understandably make you cringe.
I suppose I got to the book much later than most, way after all the controversy over the historical accuracy and plagiarism of the real research books out there. I wasn't expecting a thesis, just a fun read.

The audiobook narrator's voice for Sophie is so funny, it's the stereotypical "French Woman" accent and it does get a little annoying after a while. But this is a 5 stars, a classic, "she is gorgeous to me" book! This is cheesy and thrilling and stupid and incredible and a perfect thriller. I always have a ton of fun with this.

John Oliver is correct, the final puzzle being "Apple" is so stupid and easy and almost juvenile, you kind of lose respect for all of the characters (who are scholars!!) that don't figure it out. Goes to show book smarts doesn't equal being smart lol.
