I'm so sad that I didn't really enjoy this book.. but this book was whack. I was entertained enough to not give it a 2 stars, but I'm astounded that this level of writing has come from one of my favorite authors. Definitely more Middle Grade and 100% everyone sucks here, but an especially big fuck you to Mack. All of the characters were frustrating and it was filled with frustrating decisions/lingo that did not seem to reflect their ages. I think probably the only character I enjoyed was Henry, but he really felt like "Gen Z written by a Millennial"

This is kind of a fun concept--Ivy manifests her cult TV show crush from a series of fan fics. She and her BFF Henry and her former BFF (and crush) Mack have to figure out what to do with Wesley before Ivy's parents return.

This was cute and I enjoyed the funny references to popular romance tropes, like enemies to lovers and one bed. The story doesn't take itself too seriously and is easy to get through. I think it might have been a tad too cheesy for my normal liking.
You really need to suspend disbelief, which is a common theme in this book - and I had a hard time doing that at certain points.
