This just wasn’t for me - the premise was too ridiculous and the life lessons too earnest. It would definitely be appreciated for the audience it was intended though.

This book was so fucking ridiculous and unserious but so self-aware that I could just lean back and enjoy the insane ride. All the fan fiction references were top-notch, I especially enjoyed the casual "his blue orbs". I am also a total sucker for friends-to-enemies-to-lovers and I thought the reason for Ivy's and Mack's falling out was believable and I could understand both sides. Oh, and it had asexual rep, so what more could I ask for? Man, I miss reading fanfiction now. And Sophie Gonzales has become such a comfort author for me when it comes to silly queer coming of age novels with just the tiniest bit of depth.
