Thanks, Netgalley for the Arc

This was an entertaining book to read. It is silly, cute, and wholesome. I found myself relating to Ivy and her coping through life with writing and trying to express herself in a way she can’t always outside of text. The way Sophie Gonzales developed Ivy through the book and made you care so much about her was great. I also found the pacing to be lovely and kept me reading the book all in one go. If you’ve enjoyed any of Sophie Gonzales’ books you’ll love this one too.

I landed on this (YA) book straight from a bunch of Adult ones and it was certainly a bit of a mental adjustment because this book is very YA (not derogatory). The protagonist is emotionally a bit less mature than your average 16-year-old (part of the character arc), which makes it also feel like a bit of an adjustment.

If you are familiar with/enjoy fanfic and romance writing tropes, you will likely get some good laughs out of this. It's very much rom-com style, what-if all the tropes one by one to teach the protagonist a lesson about accidental wish fulfilment, etc. but the maturity (or lack thereof) of the main character makes it a bit dicey for me.

Overall, enjoyable and fun but reads very much like the top range of middle school with the main characters rather than modern 16 year olds.

I found this a really easy, enjoyable read. Watching the MC grow was nice and I found the characters likeable. The storyline made me laugh and Weston was funny and was an excellent character.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review

This was a wild ride! The characters were all completely unhinged, which was amazing. I quite enjoyed the focus on people with vastly different interests and personalities loving each other, showing how much work that can take. Intriguing plot as well, with some scenes I at times felt like I was reading a horror novel trapped in a romcom xD

I quite enjoyed the premise of the book. A character from fanfic that comes to life?! It sounded so interesting!
I couldn’t put this book down and found myself feeling different types of emotions whilst reading it.
This does contemporary enemies to lovers well!
