the perfect sapphic rom com. Just the right amount com (I laughed out loud multiple times during the weston bits) and the right amount rom. Ivy and Mack had me giggling and kicking my feet!
It's safe to say that its a very unique sort of storyline. At least, not one that I've read before. Really cute too

I think I would have loved this book as a teen, but now as an adult, it was a trip of reminiscing.
This book is weird, but it ultimately won me over. I think in many ways itโs a love letter to the teen version of yourself just starting play around with fiction. Itโs also a bit of a critique (but more like a demonstration) of the difference between what we want in fiction vs what we what in reality. It accomplishes both of these things in the goofiest way possible AND treats reader to a horror adjacent third act that is so satisfying. Would ADORE a streamer adaptation.
Ooo this got a tiny bit creepy and I wasn't suspecting it. 4.5 rounded up.

The meta commentary on fanfic tropes and all the fandom stuff generally was A++, but weirdly the romance fell short. Also, the whole Weston thing got a little played out by the end.

This was a sweet and fast read with loads of good energy.
I picked this read up expecting a lot of fanfic and fandom energy, I was definitely not disappointed. Ivy brought her favorite fictional character to life and it was a positively chaotic fight to figure out what to do, especially since he was standing right in her bedroom and thinks they're soulmates.
Basically this scenerario and story described some of our dreams as readers, our favorite fictional love interest being real and obsessed with us. I am very happy that this was also portrayed realistically, because some of the things we read or consume aren't actually what we would want in reallife.
I especially loved the characters in this book, they were all just such a comfort to read and experience.

I really liked this book and it was a fast read, however I don't think I will remember a lot of the plot in two months time. Nonetheless the story and plot were very well executed.
I especially liked how the Chapters always consisted of a past and present part, this gave it a good structure. Although I wished the past parts sometimes would've been a tad bit longer (that however is just a personal opinion and nothing negative)

Honestly, way more thin than I usually expect and get from Sophie Gonzales and Iโm sad about that.
