This reimagining of Arthurian legend is so wonderfully done, I hated to reach the end of the book - and can not wait for book 2! In some ways I was reminded of The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, which is one of my favorite books of all time, in the way it told the story from a different angle (and with a few twists), with Guinevere as the focus instead of Arthur and his knights.
I listened to the audiobook, beautifully read by Elizabeth Knowelden, and really hope she reads the next two in the trilogy as well. It’s nice when it is consistent throughout a series.

3.5 stars because while I really enjoyed this and the great little twists, I don't understand why Guinevere and Merlin would chose what they chose. I'm just not convinced. I'm still excited to read the next books though, because overall this was a really enjoyable read.

*Review= So i might be a bit bias about this because growing up i was in love with Merlin and the Arthur Legends. I just loved being back in this world and the Author did a great job with the story of the Arthur Legends. When reading this i felt like i was a part of this story and seeing Arthur rule Camelot. One thing i missed was seeing more of Merlin but i understand that this story was more than just Merlin alone. This was about Camelot being protected and the mystery of who Guinevere is. I hope to get to the second book very soon! The magic of this story is what i enjoy the most and this book helps me escape my reality and into a world full of actual magic, power, love, honor and mystery.

Okay wow this really turned itself around. I was bored for the first 150 pages but after that it got better.
SpoilerAlso, Lancelot the lady knight of my dreams... Would die for you.
