I honestly don't know why and I can't quite put a finger on it, but I just didn't click with this book. I never fully got invested and interested in it. I was curious enough to know how it ended to finish it, but I'm pretty underwhelmed. I liked the twist at the end, but this was overall a miss for me. However, I'm sure many people will love it and enjoy it so please do give this book a chance.

This was a fun read! I think it dragged a bit in the middle, but I still really enjoyed it.
Here is what kept it from being a 4 star for me. And it's a personal thing, very petty. I respect that she's a good character, who will make the right decision and think of the greater good. But hooooooooo boy, I would have lost my shit on some of these men who are just STRAIGHT UP LYING AND STEALING HER MEMORIES. I'm proud of you for using your magic for good. Couldn't be me.

A good retelling in a female-centric way of the classic Arthurian legend. Definitely a set up for a trilogy, so the rating may change based on where the story goes. All in all, I enjoyed the escape and am eager for the next installment.

Este año leí hija de las tinieblas y me encantó, me enamoré de la escritura de Kiersten White y sus protagonistas (tambien leí el de Frankestein) asi que estaba esperando muchísimo de este libro porque amo los retellings y me llama mucho la leyenda del rey Arturo y sus caballeros, pero este la verdad es que me costó mucho leerlo.
Ginebra deja mucho que desear como protagonista y en verdad siento que no pasa nada hasta las últimas páginas.
No sé si leería la segunda parte

This one took awhile to get me fully engaged. Rather than a 0-60 start it was like your very first car that’s about double your age and you gotta baby the hell out of it for the first half of your drive so it doesn’t just quit on you. Once a few small things were revealed we were easily cruising along and just waiting to hit the finish line and holy shit it did not disappoint. Very pleasantly surprised.
