I'm glad these were short stories, because it only took up a short amount of my time to suffer through them.

What a combination! Some are classics which can pass off us modern. Really like this. Recommend this to kids who love to read about monsters and ghouls.

Es difícil puntuar un libro de relatos, unos son siempre mejores que otros, pero, en líneas generales, me han gustado mucho todos.

Fairly enjoyable, but uneven...

I love Neil Gaiman and looked forward to reading a series of stories he chose as unusual and interesting. Some of them were quite good... bringing a mix of the fantastic, the unexpected, and a desire to read more. There were some, however, that just missed the mark entirely (in my opinion) - The Beast of Bastardville almost had me ready to stop reading the book entirely.
All-in-all, if you are a Gaiman fan, read his story collections. If you want some odd stories about beasts and don't mind a few stinkers, this book will fit the bill.

This is a terrific anthology. Sometimes collections tend to have more stories in them that (to me) aren't as memorable or interesting. This book had stories that fit the 'theme' as well as were interesting to read. Maybe not all were my favorite, but I at least enjoyed them and didn't feel like I lost something reading them.

ARGH! I do not have the money to buy all the great books I have read lately. Turns out getting that college degree only kept me from reading all these books, and now that I'm catching up I am despondent because I don't have a job yet that will pay for them all!

This is a collection of writers put together and introduced by Gaiman. They are amazing authors, that has only doubled my list of writers to find and read. Le sigh.

Even the stories that did not rate me telling the nearest person about were interesting enough to make me wish I could, but I have to limit the amount I say, "Oh, you would love this story. It is right up your alley. You should read this sometime, but not now because I am."

some of these shorts are so bizzare that I definitely do feel like a little girl again while reading them - but not necessarily in a good way. I can't shake this nagging feeling that there are a. themes going over my head or b. the stories are what they are at face value, no metaphors. I'm leaning towards a.; what the hell is "Moveable Beast" or "Prismatica" about, then? Seeking literary assistance with these ones. I might stick to my blaringly obvious dystopian motifs. Honestly barely enjoy this even though its brimming with my favorite authors.

its taking me a very long time to read.

nobody told me it was an anthology, and even if some stories were very interesting, anthologies aren't my thing

I've had this book lying on my shelf for years now, and I don't know why I procrastinated reading it. I really enjoyed it! The subject matter and illustrations lend the book such a neat and spooky aesthetic, and the font is really easy on the eyes. I especially love how some stories debuted in 2012, while others were first published in the 1800s. Despite their wildly different ages, they fit so well together!
