"reading, library rules, each rule is one page with a funny picture but no explanation"

Simple and funny. Would be great for an "Library Visit Storytime" or as an introduction to a "How To Use The Library" group visit.

The rhyme scheme is often forced, the illustrations don't do enough to elevate the didactic instructions, and the book includes words such as "deface" and "censor" that are unexplained and clearly above the vocabulary level of the supposed audience.

Cute little book that teaches children how to use the library. Would be a good read aloud for any librarian or teacher at the beginning of the year. I may use it with my 8s next year.

The book has a great message and attempts to lay out all of the rules that go along with how to take care of library books, but I think some of the words are a bit lofty for the intended audience, in this case my 2 year old. My son was more excited about the animals in the book and copying what they were doing on each page, so the illustrations truly made him want to do everthing he wasn't supposed to. We will be returning the book just like the book outlines to do.

The illustrations are adorable, but there's really no story line. Essentially this is a list of rules on how to treat library books. It's very simple and straight forward so I'll probably use it with my toddlers, but I'll paper clip a few pages together or find a word or two to substitute for the phrases "Don't censor, delete, or deface" and "Don't overdue it, just renew it. Really now, there's nothing to it.)" because, really, what child young enough to read a book like this has any idea what those words/phrases mean?

This would be cute for an introduction to the library and how to use library books.

No real story, but a good lesson for how to treat books. At times it seems to address more how to behave in a library or with a library book, and some may be for how to behave with your own books. Overall, a cute lesson for how we treat books.

I love books about reading. I love books about books. I love books that remind children, old and young alike, how to properly care for a book. I personally think this should be madatory reading for anyone who uses the library!
