I just finished the book. I'm feeling enlightened, and much more knowledgeable about myths and archetypes. I'm looking forward to digging back into my next novel-in-process and checking the chassis to make sure it's built correctly to hold the vehicle I'm dropping on it.

Gail's friendly, conversational, intimate way of speaking does not water down her exceptionally well-researched wealth of information. It all flows, in harmony. I recommend this book to any writer of fiction - but especially writers of Young Adult fiction.

I wasn't surprised to learn that my first novel is a Heroine's Journey, but I WAS surprised to realize that a Hero on his journey crosses/compliments my Heroine's path. That was a fun ah-ah moment.

I appreciated a certain comparison of books and Rueben sandwiches, and will do my best to keep that advice in mind always. Thanks... (I'm looking at YOU, Gail.)

This book was fascinating. It’s written in a really accessible way. I loved the examples of both the hero’s & heroines journeys.
The author is able to take potentially complicated narratives and break them down into easily understandable information.
I devoted this book and hope to find more information that is as helpful and informative.

A literary analysis of a story structure that runs in different lines from the “hero’s journey.” A great work of analysis aimed at those who want to analyze or write fiction. This book helped me take a structural look at some of the things I do in my own fiction and gave me tools to talk about those things. Recommended.

Presents an interesting and useful plot structure alternative to The Hero's Journey. Mind you, I don't think her presentation of The Hero's Journey is completely accurate, but that's all right.
