Having adored both Clovenhoof and Pigeonwings I thought I might miss Jeremy. As it happens I didn't. The "Godsquad" were almost as good as Jeremy.

A prayer has come in from Simon. Simon doesn't seem to have a soul, so Joan of Arc, Saint Christoper and Francis of Assisi have been sent back to earth to track down Mary Mother of Jesus and then find Simon. Mary has gone AWOL in Europe and Simon seems to be counting down to the Apocalypse, so it's a bit urgent that Joan and friends find them.

This story was a road trip with a difference. The cast are out of time and out of this world too. They meet up with people who help them and those that hinder them, although they certainly hinder themselves with ease.

I love this author(s) writing. It's fast-paced, funny and irreverent. A joy to read indeed.

After reading the Clovenhoof series by Heide and Iain it took me a little longer to get into Godsquad. As it's a story based on heavenly beings for some reason I kept thinking that some of the characters from Clovenhoof would make an appearance. Once I realised they weren't going to I finally settled into the story and thoroughly enjoyed it.

In Godsquad we meet 3 wonderfully different characters, Joan of Arc, Francis of Assisi and St Christopher.

All 3 Saints are sent to earth to find Mary, mother of Jesus who seems to have disappeared. Through the search the authors take us on a humorous journey through France where the characters seem to go from one hilarious incident to another.

The three main characters have such different personalities which I think made the story more enjoyable as they have to work with each other whether they like it or not.

I really would love to see this book made into a film. As a reader I could really visualise some of the messes the 3 Saints get themselves into and would love for everyone young and old to be able to enjoy the antics in this wonderful book.

I don't know how Heide and Iain come up with these wonderful books but they have got to be my number one favourite writing duo. With books like these two publish it is really hard to do justice in a review for how fabulous they are and all I can say is that as a reader you will certainly not regret getting any of their books. So what are you waiting for?

Not nearly as entertaining as its two predecessors.

I have a friend who would have described this book in two words "A Hoot!". I read the book in just a few days and was really sorry to finish it, I was enjoying it so much. I won't write anything about the plot or the characters other than to say what my daughter said about a book she was reading. "I would give it 6 stars out of 5 if Goodreads would let me".

Brilliantly, irreligiously funny. Nobody, but nobody is spared. I recommend it to you.

Oh dear, this is gonna be a long month. Want to read it NOW!!!! lol. Though, tbh I'd be even more excited if it was another Clovenhoof story.
Ok, technically it was but without my favourite characters. It was a good read but still prefer the others.
