Violet Howe is a new-to-me author and that is one of the things that I am loving about the Sail Away series. Other than the fact that I get to escape on these little mini-cruises with all these wonderful characters, I am also being exposed to a lot of new authors and I get a wonderful taste of their work.

Moonlight on the Lido Deck was a fun cruise. Katie's life is falling apart but she is convinced, at the last minute, to go on a cruise with her sister's best friend. Well, there are sparks for sure. And not just between Katie and Ben. She had no idea that Ben's mom and sister could be so volatile and just plain mean! It was interesting watching Katie trying to get on their better side, until she just can't take it any more.

Katie is just trying to figure herself out, and the direction she wants her life to take, after all of the turmoil she's survived. Can she walk away from maybe the best thing in her life in order to figure it all out? I love watching her growth and discovery.

I highly recommend Moonlight on the Lido Deck, as well as this whole series, as an escape and as a way to experience the fun of a cruise or two, or eight.

As always, Mrs Howe has done it again! I was so excited to read this book because I just knew it was going to be mesmerizing. It did not disappoint! Katie and Ben are two lovable characters, and you can’t help but feel immersed into their story. The plot moves at a great pace as well, but it’s the story itself that really captured my heart. The characters and the plot are well developed. The adventure these two protagonists go on is interesting and captivating at the same time. I’d love to see what happens next! Violet has created another masterpiece yet again!

Solid Blend Of Several Elements. This book, despite its 230 ish page length, has quite a bit going on. You've got a women's fiction type tale of a woman losing everything and having to discover anew just who she is and what she wants out of life. You've got the good looking adventurous dude with a shady history. You've got a fake relationship between the two... set up by the sister of the woman/ gay best friend of the guy. And you've got all of this set in bustling NYC, sandy Cocoa Beach, FL, and the wonders of the Caribbean on a beautiful cruise ship. And yes, the titular moonlight on Lido deck... can truly be life-changing (noted from near-personal experience - it is almost always magical, at minimum). Overall truly a solid tale that combines all of these elements and makes them enhance each other into a fun, and short-ish, story. Very much recommended.
