You had me at slasher romance. It so happens that this was a really good one.
A ferocious, masked slasher, a final girl, a canny femme fatale: a match made in hell and people are going to suffer.
This was a very entertaining read and I loved the chaos. It made me laugh a couple of times. Some of the

Great read

This book was suggested to me through Goodreads, and not am I happy it was. It's gonna sound weird but I was always team jack! That ending had me gasping.
So massacre maniac is a serial killer, picking victims off when he feels like, until he stumbles upon a group of people hanging around an abandoned theme park, he does what he does best and kills them all except one , Zoe, instead he seriously injures her, but doesn't finish her off, which is when she becomes his obsession, but she too has her own little secret!
Definitely recommend!

A wickedly twisted game of cat and mouse with rival serial killers.
I swear I had a sinister grin on my face the entire time while reading this. With each page, the characters became more unhinged and their mental stability cracked and oozed insanity. Meet At Midnight had so many classic slasher moments with its own variation of spice. The twists and turns around each corner were far from what I was expecting and I loved every moment of it. I had so much fun reading this and I really look forward to more Umbra Valley books.
Happy Slashing ;)

I loved this so damn much!

This was a perfect little slasher romance with healthy doses of chaotic insanity. I laughed out loud numerous times at the characters' individual quirks, as well as their interactions that had ended in "fails".

Zoe (FMC),was the gothic goddess I miss seeing in books. Not saying that there's any one particular color of hair, or any attribute for that matter, that makes a character loved over another. But, I was glad to have a gothic fmc with dark locks. Everything about her just oozed this one-of-a-kind existence. I loved her so very much.

Jack (MMC), was a sexy mashup of Michael Myers & Jason.
He was this larger than life psychopath that won me over quite quickly.

Overall, this story was absolutely so entertaining. There is a connection to [b:Creepy Court vol. 1: A Monster Mall Anthology|199519277|Creepy Court vol. 1 A Monster Mall Anthology|Evangeline Priest|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1697113596l/199519277._SX50_.jpg|203985600]; as well as [b:Meet At Midnight: A Slasher Romance|195504224|Meet At Midnight A Slasher Romance (Umbra Valley Book 1)|Lux Oleander|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1690909275l/195504224._SY75_.jpg|197251314] being the first in a series.

I can not wait to get more of this world in the Anthology. And I absolutely will be on pins and needles for the next installment!

Meet at Midnight is for all the final girlies who didn’t just think “I could survive better than them” or “I could fix him,” but “I would join him.”

Under her other pen name, Lux Oleander is the queen of making her readers Scaroused. Meet at Midnight embraces that level of unhinged that we have come to expect and love and increased it, more than you could anticipate. Content warnings should not be taken lightly, and only the bravest, most dedicated (or perhaps foolish) final girls should move forward into the depravity.

Let’s be real, you’re not here for the plot. You’re here for that thrill, the adrenaline of “will she survive this time” and the reward in the form of some of the hottest, pitch black romance spice you will ever scan your eyeballs over. I’m in love with the set up of this world, and if you haven’t checked it out you need to pick up Frankie’s Funhouse in the Creepy Court anthology which is in this same town. You know you saw another animated game/movie and looked at him a little different.

Everything my Ghostface loving, dark twisted heart loves was fulfilled tenfold. If you’ve ever fantasized about surviving and getting a second chance with the man in the mask, this is for you.

Thank you to Lux for the ARC!

Non stop action, dark and twisty with steam and dark humor!

I loved this book!! Dark and twisty!! Both Jack and Zoe are characters unlike any you've read before. They have a different outlook on life. They see things differently and have never fit in anywhere or felt anything. Until they meet each other. It's an interesting meet cute, but sparks fly and neither can forget about each other. It's a bit of an obsession for both, which is unnerving for each of them.
Also, I love this world!! While this is a contemporary story, if you've read The Creepy Court Anthology (specifically Frankie's Funhouse), you'll recognize some of the places in Umbra Valley. Lux Oleander has given us a killer story while creating a world we're dying to know more of!!
- stabby characters
- dark humor
- obsessed MC and FMC
- secret identities
- knife play
- rivals/ enemies to lovers

This was crazy… two serial unalivers falling in love under the craziest of conditions is not at all what I expected but it was as intriguing as ever.
I was enveloped in the story and the MCs journey… I wasn’t sure how it would end up and what consequences if any would be had for the two but I was very excited for it all!

This was a rather unique story that once you started was hard to put down. Ever since Zoe met the Maniac Massacre 2 year's ago and was left as his final girl she’s not been able to forget him. He's woken something up in her.

Jack aka Maniac Massacre has not been able to get Zoe out of his head, so he's decided to find his final girl, and once he's killed her he'll be able to move on, but when he see's her at a party thing's shift between them.

Like I said this was a unique story. I loved the banter these 2 did, and for Jack to do the thing's for her granted I can't say the same for her they truly belong together. This book is dark and has trigger's throughout so check the TW list at the door before going in otherwise enjoy the ride you're taken on.

3.5 stars. I'm not gonna complain about the issues I had with the plot because I know that's not what this story was aiming for. I'm not a romance reader, but this one was entertaining.

Two serial killers who find love? How can a dark heart like me resist?
