Ok this one's pretty tricky.
The first part got me hooked. Confidence as a heroine was so strong and fierce and I love that about her. Her and Hayes' banter and conversations were spot on. But then Hayes' alpha side became too much for me as he said some things that made me raise my eyebrows at him. From that point, their whole romance stood on shaky ground.
To add to that, the story kept jumping timelines, even between chapters. There were parts where I would have wanted a scene to play out rather than be told to me at the start of the next chapter.
Props to the author, though. This book overall was very well written. Scenes were descriptive when they needed to be that the writing was almost lyrical.
So yah. 3 stars for the book itself plus 0.5 for making me interested in the next book in the series.
