This one hit me in all my 7th grade girl feels.

Growing pains, friendship, sisterhood, and that weird feeling when you KNOW you're really good at something but you're suddenly struggling with it hardcore.

Coming in February 2024, this middle grade novel will especially appeal to kids with an interest in writing, but also to kids who feel stuck in a project of some sort. There is even a list of 25 techniques for becoming unstuck/overcoming writer's block at the end of the story and many of those techniques are included in the story itself. Lyla is new to 7th grade. Her friends/friend groups are changing, her older sister is distancing herself from the family, and Lyla has brilliant ideas for creative writing but can't seem to get words on the page. Everything in life feels unsettled and worrisome until Lyla begins to understand where she can provide help and where she needs to ask for help.
