I REALLY enjoyed this and got through it rather quickly!! I have not gotten to watch the anime series yet but wanted to check out the manga first and I am glad I did. Looking forward to the direction this series goes. It has some interesting characters and backstories mixed in with a lot of viking history.

Such a smooth entry book, I closed the last flap and immediately will drive to Barnes and Noble for the second book. Heck, I may even buy a box set if they have it. I absolutely loved this story, I think the pacing is the most balanced I have ever seen. Was never bored or stuck. Every moment was tense and engaging. The photos were so clean but so visceral at the same time. I definitely am going to explore manga as a genre more. Fun fact, for this entire volume, I read in 2 sittings on the same day, I stopped myself halfway through, to do something else with my life, but then kept thinking about it for the next hour, and just had to finish it. Absolutely loved this manga. Bury me with all the volumes in a neat little stack next to me.
