Always a fantastic read about Greek and Norse mythology!
Instructive, but with a weird racist twist at the end.
i was afraid this comprehensive anthology of the greek and roman myths written in the 40s would be dry and a chore to read. just the opposite. captivating, fascinating, well-told, and extremely entertaining. the 20 pages at the end showcasing norse myths seemed extraneous compared to the 440 pages of the greeks before it, but it was just enough to educate without dragging on. i will definitely use this book as a reference for years to come.
This book provides an excellent overview of mythology.
Because of something that happened at work, I was retelling the Icarus tale. After a couple of times, I wondered if I really had it right. Blew the dust off this one on my shelf and found myself lost in it again. I love these stories. It's so pleasant to return to the "originals," the seeds from which so many new movies and shows are grown.

Can you give stars to Edith Hamilton? It seems wrong somehow.
