This was a fun set up to a new series. I’m intrigued to see where Mattie Cobb’s story leads as she continues to build her bond with her k-9 partner. This wasn’t anything revolutionary in this mystery, but if you’re looking for an enjoyable read it’s definitely one to check

This book was an average mystery, not great, not awful. Pretty predictable and often spouting cliches. The characters were...meh. They didn’t really have any depth to them. You would think that there would be at least a deep connection between Mattie Cobb and her K9 partner, Robo, but they didn’t really have personalities that grabbed you and the connection between them was...meh.

Even the murderer wasn’t so evil, just some person who planned a murder and hoped they’d get away with it. Meh....

Naturally ay the penultimate moment, Mattie has no cell coverage and it’s just her and Robo against the killer, never would have seen that plot development, except the last hundred mysteries I’ve read. So yeah, not a great book.

I really enjoyed this first in the series. It was engaging, diverse, and taut enough without feeling too contrived.

Mattie is a no nonsense K9 deputy with the best partner, Robo. They are fresh out of training and Mattie learns to trust her partner. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

A thoroughly engaging story that elegantly blends a strong female lead and police procedural details. I fell in love with Robo, the German shepherd police service dog!

Mattie Cobb is a young cop in her home town in Colorado, and she just finished training to be a K-9 officer with Robo. Sure, she has back story, but the main mystery surrounds Robo finding a dea

I thought this was a great start to the series. Made me want to read the 2nd book. I liked that it has a k-9 in the story and is a cop drama with a female lead.
