I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good novel after reading a bunch of nonfiction business books. I felt the ending was somewhat abrupt and unsatisfying. But overall an enjoyable book to read about two families that live next door to each other in Ditmas Park Brooklyn and how their relationships intertwine.

I enjoyed this book, like the other Emma Straub I've read, it interwove stories seamlessly and had human characters. There were unique emotions and situations. That said, I didn't enjoy it as much because I ultimately found the characters a little one note and less easy to root for.
I found Ruby to be just "the moody teenager" and henry the "boy in love with ruby" which was unfortunate, because i particularly loved the teenagers in other Emma Straub novels. I also found there to be not enough tension to drive the plot
