I found this novel insanely addictive.
I've seen some reviews complain that it's not accurate - well, duh. It is historical fiction and like most historical fiction, especially those based on once living people, the author tends to take some liberties.

Again. Fiction.

Due to the holidays, I wasn't able to do as much reading when I first started it, but once I returned to my regular schedule I was able to fully devour it. And I did just that!

I knew a fair bit about the history to begin with, but this book definitely pushed me to seek out more of the generally accepted truths of the time. This is something that often happens to me with the historical fiction genre though. If I find out a book is based, even loosely, on a real person - I have to know more.

Mary as the narrator was an excellent choice, although at times I have to admit that I was wondering just what was going on in Anne's head (according to Ms. Gregory anyway!) as well as George, and even Henry.

Overall, I was really happy with this book. Especially since I picked it up for $.99 at Goodwill.

Loved the drama, however some of the stereotypes where too over played.

This book is pure fiction in a historical period. I enjoyed it by that account and since I am not a nut for history it was a fun read if not an educational or necessarily perfectly written one.

VERY LONG- slow start but by 70% I couldn’t put it down. Love this time period and fascinated with the six wives of Henry so this was a great read

I'm not sure this is actually a great book (although I did enjoy it) but I spent the whole thing itching to punch Anne Boleyn in the face. I feel like any book that can make me react so passionately deserves a decent rating.

This book is a scandalous read! I liked it better than the movie. Slow at parts, though!

Ok, I picked it back up half-way through and I am so over it. I tried to get into it, but the mere fact that it isn't even loosely-based on fact makes me want to throw it across the room. So I am waving the white flag. I have too many other books I need to read.
