Not good, not bad. It filled the void of the reading abyss I have been in lately. I was in the mood for a light easy read. This fit that bill perfectly.

The Other Boleyn Girl
Main Characters: Anne Boleyn, Mary Boleyn, Henry VIII
Setting: 1500s England
Synopsis: The rise and fall of the Boleyn family as they try to manipulate their way onto the throne by any means necessary.
Thoughts: Dynamic, multi-faceted characters that come to life thanks to the author. While it may not be completely historically accurate, this book manages to capture my attention fully with each reread. If you're looking for a book filled with love, lust, betrayal, and ambition, look no further.

A favorite to last.

This book gave me something to look forward to all the time. Between the intrigue, secrets, dances, romances, enemies, and outfits, I was hooked. I loved all the bits of history woven throughout the fiction to add depth and richness to the story. Mary did not start out as my favorite character but by the end I wanted nothing but the best for her.

I look forward to rereading it whenever I want a historical, slice-of-life, saucy story to embrace me.

I enjoyed this fictional account of Anne Boleyns rise and then death because she made Henry believe he could overrule the church. However as the saying goes you can't have your cake and eat it too and she learned that the hard way. I loved the character portrayal of Mary even thought she seemed dimwitted at times. Finally I loved Queen Katherine and even though everything was against her she held her head high and kept her faith.

Fantastic book! Especially because my favourite period of history is the Tudor era.
