Another great story in this series. Brandon always has fresh and new ideas. I do feel he rushes through things. One scene rushes into another scene and it doesn't feel like time is really given to let it unfold. It's all a rush and it doesn't seem to add suspense really. I am bummed this last book is not next. That is mean. Still, can't wait.

Brandon Mull was better for me when I was younger. Now I can't really read with much enthusiasm because, well, I've read better books.

Death Weavers just didn't quite make the cut for me. None of the Five Kingdoms have. Fablehaven and Beyonders were better.

Oh, by the way, this book has MAJOR spoilers for Beyonders. Read Beyonders FIRST.

This was good, as all the books are, but personally, it lacked...something. Also, I wish the struggle for Cole was more difficult near the end. However, still good.

It was okay... I found the beginning really hard to get into, but as it hit the later chapters I found myself really getting into the book.

This book was extremely boring for 450 pages, last 50 or so pages made the book almost worth hence my rating of 2 stars instead of one. It contained FULL chapters of pointless information and tangents. In addition, most of the book showed characters traveling rather than confrontation scenes. I’d say 80% of the book was traveling and other percentage split into 20% about the topic or characters encountering conflict. All in all, this was an extremely underwhelming, botched, sleep-inducing, dreadful book and journey. Worst book of the series despite the beautiful cover.

I saw some negative reviews about this one but I really enjoyed it. The stakes were raised and I felt like we saw some real character growth in Cole. I liked all of the secondary characters, the hint at Beyonders was awesome and if we get a crossover series, I'd probably die of happiness. My one complaint with this book was I found the magic system to be a little overcomplicated compared to the previous books. I can't wait to see how this all wraps up.

Enjoyed it very much. Went between 4 and 4.5 most of the book. I loved the Beyonders crossover.

This world was so cool! I love the crossover characters from The Beyonders series! It was fun to reconnect with them while they help Cole rescue his friends. Thunder was a cool addition and the home song sounds both lovely and horrifying! The build up is great and I love that Cole is not a whiney main character, makes me excited for his successes!
